Civil Rights Diversity Fellowship

The Law Offices of Do Kim, APLC is proud to announce its Civil Rights Diversity Fellowship for Summer 2026. As part of our commitment to supporting public interest and civil rights lawyering and diversity in the legal profession, the Fellowship will provide 1 first or second year law student a meaningful opportunity to work on cases involving police misconduct, prisoner abuse, wrongful conviction, employment discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. The selected Fellow will work directly with UCLA Law Public Interest Law & Policy (PILP) and Critical Race Studies (CRS) alumnus Do Kim for 10 weeks (40 hours per week) in the summer following 1L or 2L year and receive a $10,000 stipend (less payroll deductions).

Eligible applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Enrolled full-time or part-time in good academic standing at an ABA accredited law school. 
  • Completed 1L or 2L year by the start of the Fellowship.
  • Diverse, including but not limited to all underrepresented classes such as race, ethnicity, gender, disability, socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, formerly incarcerated, unique life experience, etc.

Interested applicants should submit a resume (including phone number and email address), writing sample, and a cover letter to [email protected] no later than 11:59 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026. 

  • Please use the cover letter to help us get to know you, including a statement about your goals, your interest in the Fellowship, any personal achievements and challenges you have overcome, and what diversity, justice, or freedom mean to you.  
  • The cover letter should be no longer than two single-spaced pages in length.

Interviews will be scheduled for select applicants, and we expect to make our decision by the end of February 2026.
